Course: Advancing Research-based Innovation: Pathways to Impact – IØ8909 (5 ECTS)

Are you a PhD candidate eager to increase the impact of your research? “Advancing Research-based Innovation: Pathways to Impact” is a 5 ECTS course designed to give you the competence to evaluate alternative pathways to create meaningful impact with innovation from your research.

Offered at NTNU, Trondheim this Autumn, this intensive four-day course will introduce the concepts and tools used to evaluate research-based innovation and feasibility of different paths in bringing this innovation to users.

Grounded in the internationally recognized entrepreneurship education framework developed at Engage – Centre for Engaged Education through Entrepreneurship, the course blends lectures, workshops, group discussions, and real-world practice. You will work with your own research-based innovation idea to explore alternative pathways to impact and evaluate these for their feasibility, including your own role in this. Along the way, you’ll interact with experts from NTNU’s Innovation Ecosystem, including the Technology Transfer Office.

This course is ideal for PhD candidates seeking to strengthen their innovation competence, meet requirements of the Norwegian National Qualifications Framework, and prepare for careers both inside and outside academia.

Course fee: Free. The normal course fee of NOK 5,000 is exempt this year due to financial contribution from NTNU and Innovation Norway’s national ecosystem funds.
