Norwegian roads are economically important routes for seafood. Because the product loses considerable value if delivered late, the reliable operation of these roads is important to the seafood industry.
Who can participate?
The challenge is open to students from a range of disciplines. All students from NTNU are eligible to apply.
Travel, accommodations and most meals are covered..
Participating students will work in teams to develop innovative solutions to improve the transportation of seafood on two critical routes. One is on Skjervøy, north of Tromsø, and the other on Frøya, west of Trondheim.
A substantial cash prize will be awarded to the winning design. The winning team may also receive funding to continue their work post the challenge.
The challenge will take place from June 13th-17th 2018, and will include site visits and dedicated work days.
- A student at NTNU
- Has skills, knowledge and/or has attended training relevant to transportation systems design operations or logistic
- Able to work in multi-national teams of 3 to 5 people
- A short resumé.
- A list of classes and other skills or training relevant to solving transportation challenges.
- A one page statement indicating why you would be a good choice as a participant in the design challenge.
The students that have been selected for the challenge will get notices by May 7th.
